Answers for our Trivia Challenge, April 2008

1. Accessories:
Q: What is the biggest problem with buying a used helmet?

A. It may contain a scalp disease.
B. It may have been dropped once.
C. It might have warped from years of use.
D. It might cause a rash.

A: The answer is actually B.

One drop from a significant height can weaken the inner shell just enough to loose it's integrity. Not a good thing before it acts to protect you.

2. Amazing Women Bikers:
Q: In 2003 Benka Pulko, from Ptuj, Slovenia was awarded three Guinness World Records for traveling around the globe in 2000 days. We could ask how many years that took, but we know you can do the math. So the question is what was she riding (the bike should have been given an award too, one should think)?

A. 1996 BMW F-650
B. 1996 Harley Fatboy
C. 1996 Triumph Adventurer
D. 1996 Honda CB 1000

The answer is A.

We'd be happily amazed if you knew the bike. We were glad to have found the story about this amazing woman biker. Here is the article.

3. Tech:
True or False? If you see consistent white smoke coming from the exhaust pipes after your bike is all warmed up, this might be a signal that the head gasket is leaking badly.

The answer is True. The white smoke indicates you are loosing water. If that is happening to you, check your coolant level.
